Common questions

What is Stamp and Press about?

Manufacturing in North America, taken from two directions at once: the process running on the floor and the factory investment being announced. Sectors and Processes cover the work, Automation and Workforce cover how it is changing, and Policy covers the rules and money around it.

Is this written for engineers or for investors?

For both, which is why process reporting and investment reporting sit side by side. The language does not stop to define shop floor terms, and it does not pretend an announced plant is a built one. Anything in Policy is reported as policy, not as a done deal.

Where do the figures come from?

From named trade publications, company releases and public agency documents, credited and linked in each piece. An investment total or a headcount belongs to whoever published it first. Nothing is estimated here.

Is there a person behind each article?

They are produced with automated assistance from the source material and carry no personal byline, with the originating publication credited instead. The Sources and methods page describes how each piece is put together.

Something is wrong. What happens now?

The Corrections page asks for the article address and the specific claim in dispute. The article itself is then corrected, with a dated line at the foot recording the change, and substantive corrections are listed.

Does the site set cookies?

No, and none of the usual company either: no analytics, no advertising, no third-party fonts or scripts. The one thing kept locally is your theme preference, and it stays on your device.
