Arrowfly launched the AI for Engineers 2027 Outlook survey and its inaugural conference to accelerate practical AI adoption in manufacturing and engineering. The initiative, anchored by Arrowfly’s network of over 20 engineering brands, provides a year-round resource for engineers applying artificial intelligence in their work.

AI for Engineers consists of four interconnected pillars: a dedicated News Desk, a flagship annual conference, original research, and an Advisory Board. The original research program is the 2027 Outlook of AI, a peer-to-peer study spanning five core disciplines. The study aims to capture AI adoption by function, what is working, remaining barriers, and leader expectations by 2030. AI for Engineers will hold its inaugural event from September 20 to 22, 2027.

Survey and Conference Details

The survey asks how engineering organizations are adopting AI by function, what is working, where barriers remain, and what leaders expect by 2030. Results will be compiled into a gated report published in Q4 2026. Engineers who complete the survey and qualify receive a free pass to the 2027 conference.

The conference is expected to bring together 700 engineers and technical leaders. It will take place at M Resort Spa Casino in Henderson, Nev., just outside Las Vegas. The event format includes daily keynotes, editorial sessions, pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings, and speaking slots. Attendees will receive practical, vendor-tested AI workflows they can apply immediately. The third day closes with guided peer conversations on specific AI topics. The conference also includes a welcome reception on Day 1 and an offsite dinner on Day 2.

Industry Engagement and Reach

The initiative leverages a substantial existing audience. Arrowfly's engineering brands have 1.6 million email subscribers and collectively reach 2.1 million verified industry readers. The network reaches 29 million website visitors and generates 202 million monthly impressions. More than 30,000 engineering and technical professionals have already engaged with AI topics across Arrowfly’s portfolio through webinars, newsletters, and editorial content.

Advisory Board and Industry Support

An advisory board of engineering leaders from top companies shapes the initiative's focus on practical AI applications rather than vendor agendas. The AI for Engineers Advisory Board is a council of engineering and technical leaders shaping standards, ethics, and best practices. It ensures editorial coverage, conference programming, and research reflect real practitioner priorities.

The board includes engineering leaders from BP, Procter & Gamble, Tesla, and DuPont, as well as Alex Zhavoronkov, founder and CEO of Insilico Medicine. Organizations represented in the audience include Amazon, NVIDIA, Boeing, Siemens, Medtronic, and Tesla. Engineering organizations are investing in AI across core functions including design, R&D, automation, manufacturing operations, cybersecurity, and workforce development.

Amanda Buehner, senior vice president of sales & strategy for engineering at Arrowfly, explained the driving need. "AI is no longer a future-state consideration for engineers," Buehner said. "It is a present-tense operational reality across product design, manufacturing, robotics, medtech, and energy." She added that the central challenge for leaders is moving from experimentation to practical, repeatable applications that deliver results.

Conference attendees will include a wide range of roles, from mechanical and design engineers to CAD specialists, product development managers, R&D directors, medical device engineers, and manufacturing executives. In research, AI has moved from a side project to a budget line over the past few years, with deployments gaining traction in areas like protein design, materials discovery, simulation, and lab automation. The survey will be distributed to engineering organizations to capture AI adoption status by function with results compiled into a gated report in Q4 2026.
